When your baby has the flu...

Kevin had the flu over the weekend. Yuck.

He missed school on Monday. I stayed home with him. He was feeling a lot better, and spent a lot of time resting on the couch watching tv and playing video games in the bonus room. I sat at my table and scrapped with Allison Davis sketches. :)

Luckily my photo order from York Photo arrived on Saturday. (With my order of 100+ photos, I qualified for free shipping!) I had been waiting on Halloween photos so I could scrap with my Noel Mignon "Sleepy Hollow" kit.
The photos are of Blake and me trying on masks at Walmart the day before Halloween. (We wanted to see how we looked, but their wasn't a mirror - so we went the digital camera route!)LOVE all the embellishments with this kit - Making Memories corrugated alphas, Pink Paislee glitter alphas, and Making Memories and Girls Paperie accents. I even used a Pink Paislee rub-on (spider web). When was the last time I used a rub-on??? I had to get that spider web on the page so I could use that crazy spider! Love it!I've actually used this next sketch before (here), but it was perfect for these photos from Kevin's birthday party with my family. The first time I saw this Fancy Pants birthday line, I knew I had to have it. I did some fussy cutting on this one by cutting out the cake and also the balloons from one of the card patterns on the paper. I added several details to this layout. I used a decorative border punch (Martha Stewart's around the page 'cherish'), raised some elements up with pop dots and even accented some things with Glossy Accents. Oh, and I also adhered part of my title to paper before cutting it out and adding it to the page with pop dots. It takes a little while longer, but I think it's really worth the time.
I did one more Halloween layout although I didn't use traditional Halloween colors or products. For Halloween, my youngest sister, Molly, dressed up like an '80s girl.' Poor Molly was born in '89. She knows nothing about 80's hair. I, however, lived with it.
I'm still great at teasing hair after all these years. Imagine what I could have done to her with a can of Aqua Net!
I used the same sketch for this layout that I did for "Guess Who?" above, but I adjusted it down to 11x8-1/2. I liked how the American Crafts products reminded me of the 80s. I used rub-ons again, too. All of my accents are rub-ons that I put on white cardstock, then cut out and adhered with pop dots. Pop dots are my new best friend. :)
It was nice to scrap after a busy weekend, but like I told Kevin, I would have preferred to have worked if it meant he was well.
Stay well, everyone!
